      Festival Programs

      PicString Program
Strings players find a variety of offerings at the Vivace! program. String players participate in the chamber orchestra as well as one or more chamber ensembles, playing varied and exciting repertoire from many time periods and composers. The 2009 chamber orchestra repertoire includes Mendelssohn Symphonies 9 and 10, and Bach concertos featuring Arnold Steinhardt of the Guarneri Quartet. Students also have the opportunity to perform solo works in masterclass settings.

      Piano Program
Pianists are exposed to a variety of chamber ensembles.  From 1 piano 4 hands, 2 pianos, sonatas, and larger ensembles, pianists at Vivace! are immersed the subtleties and nuances unique to ensemble playing.  Solo performance opportunities also take place at the festival.

      Wind Program
Wind instrumentalists interested in Vivace can participate in a variety of chamber ensembles with strings and piano. This opportunity will better equip students for professional chamber and orchestral experiences. A limited number of wind players will be accepted into the Vivace! program. Winds interested in large-ensemble opportunities should consider participating in Splash.
