Academy Voice Recital to Benefit Homeless Mission

Area residents can enjoy a concert of holiday music and benefit a good cause if they attend a recital of Pennsylvania Academy of Music voice students on Monday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. The program, which will take place at the Academy's 313 West Liberty Street location, will feature Christmas songs and other seasonal favorites.

While the event is free and open to the public, attendees are encouraged to bring donations for the Water Street Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization that strives to meet the needs of the hungry and homeless in Lancaster County. Donations can be in the form of nonperishable food items. The Mission is currently in the midst of a Food Drive.

The Pennsylvania Academy of Music is a non-profit pre-collegiate institution dedicated to the musical advancement of its students. Founded in 1990, the Academy attracts students from an immediate nine-county area as well as from around the world, who study disciplines ranging from instrumental, chamber music, orchestra, opera and vocal performance to music composition and theory, improvisation, accompanying ,jazz and recording.
